Conundrum
So I have a self hosted WordPress blog, which I haven’t been posting to much of late due to it getting hacked and not having enough time to clear it out and re-secure it. I’ve also got this Tumblr that I post to semi-regularly, and it’s more of a curation blog as opposed to my original writing.
The problem I have is that I’m wanting to ditch my WordPress blog completely, but I have a reasonable sized archive of writing that I don’t want to just throw out, Tumblr doesn’t allow me to import from my existing WordPress install.
Squarespace looks like it might be an interesting option, in that I can simply use it for my longer posts and also because it’s hosted technology someone else handles all the server stuff for me so all I need to worry about is just writing stuff.
And then there’s Tumblr. I enjoy the quick and easy post style that Tumblr allows me, and I’m enjoying more of the curation style of posting that I’ve been doing lately….but then I can’t import all my old posts…..
Hrmm…what should I do?

BBC News - Cult of less: Living out of a hard drive
Mr Sutton is the founder of CultofLess.com, a website which has helped him sell or give away his possessions - apart from his laptop, an iPad, an Amazon Kindle, two external hard drives, a “few” articles of clothing and bed sheets for a mattress that was left in his newly rented apartment.
Extreme? Yes. Sure is kind of interesting though.
A really interesting article.
While I do believe in a minimalist and clutter-free life, giving away everything for the sake of saying I have less is not my way. I have what i need and nothing more, however if the things i need are 100 or 1000 that’s ok. I know I use or wear those things so it’s not a waste.
I believe in practical minimalism.
There’s certainly some interesting theory in what Kelly Sutton is doing / has done.
I’ve been thinking about digitising a lot of my old recipe books, assorted other paper work, bills, etc. This action alone will clear out quite a lot of clutter in our house, and I think it might be the impetus to kick start our spring cleaning.

Hello Internet, can you do me one little favour?
Hello Internet, can you do me one little favour? Can you be awesomely interesting for the next 30 minutes while I’m waiting for my flight out of Adelaide, coz at the moment I’ve cleared out my RSS, my Instapaper, and have caught up on my delicious links.
Thanks heaps, your buddy

Chuck Patterson was SUP surfing with friends one day when two sharks joined them and circled around for 15 minutes. Rather than have the encounter deter them from surfing there again like it would for mortals, he returned to the same place the next day at the same time with a Go Pro HD HERO camera at the end of 10 foot pole.
